Donor Milk Depot

MFHS is partnering with the Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank (MAMMB) to serve as a milk depot at the Circle of Care in Scranton. A milk depot serves as a local drop off site where approved donors can drop off breastmilk. As a drop-off site, MFHS is committed to:

• Promoting education and awareness of donor milk and its benefits
• Increasing donor convenience and participation
• Expanding access to donor milk for infants in need
• Supporting safe handling and transport of raw donor milk

Who can donate?

Donors are healthy, lactating parents who have more milk than their own baby needs. Donors may come from many different backgrounds including:

• Any mother with an abundance of milk who wants to help
• Mothers whose own baby received donor milk while hospitalized
• Healthcare workers who know the importance of donor milk
• Bereaved mothers
• Surrogates

Become A Donor

Donors must be approved through the Mid-Atlantic Mothers’ Milk Bank (MAMMB).

If you are interested in becoming an approved donor, please fill out the online screening form.

If you are unable to complete an online process, contact the screening team at donate@midatlanticmilkbank.org or 412-281-4400.

MFHS can only accept donations from approved donors who have completed the screening process through MAMMB and who arrange in advance to drop off a donation.
