Barbara Bossi, Geisinger CMC – The 2015 MFHS Champion Award
Barbara Bossi is the Vice President, Ancillary Services at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. She is a Registered Nurse and has a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Scranton and is a Fellow in the American College for Healthcare Executives.
Barbara has worked closely with MFHS for over 15 years, helping the staff at Circle of Care in Scranton meet the needs of their clients. As hospital delivery systems and doctor practices have changed, Barbara was always there to help smooth the transition and ensure our clients continued to receive the highest quality care. When she saw that our WIC program participants were in need of pediatric care, she helped connect MFHS with Dr. Linda Thomas. She also recently helped the Circle of Care transition to their new location at The Wright Center. Her focus on meeting our mothers’ needs with care and compassion continues to inspire and improve lives throughout our community.
Barbra is the Chair of the G-CMC Implementation Team for the Community Health Needs Assessment, and is active in the community, working closely with many organizations and community initiatives. She is Chair of the Healthy Northeast Pennsylvania Initiative, which is an organization focused on community health. She is a member of the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute Board of Directors and Executive Committee, United Way Board of Directors, University of Scranton Advisory Council, University of Scranton Panuska College for Professional Studies Board of Directors, United Neighborhood Centers Board of Directors, Children’s Advocacy Center Advisory Council, and is very active with local universities providing educational opportunities for their students.
