The MFHS 2024 Annual Community Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, at 12 noon at The Banks Waterfront in Pittston. MFHS will present the 2024 Outstanding Public Service Award to First Lady Lori Shapiro and Second Lady Blayre Davis.

Founded in 1971, MFHS meets the ever-changing needs of women, children, and families by providing essential and innovative programming that improves the quality of life for women, children, and families. Today, we oversee and support a network of health and nutrition centers in 17 Pennsylvania counties, serving over 90,000 women, men, and children annually through our core programs: WIC Nutrition, Reproductive Health, Nurse-Family Partnership, and Pregnancy Care.

The 2024 Outstanding Public Service Award will be presented to First Lady Lori Shapiro and Second Lady Blayre Davis for their outstanding commitment to improving women’s health in the Commonwealth.

The invitation can be found on our website. Luncheon tickets are $65 per person or $500 for a table of 8. RSVP by Wednesday, October 16th to reserve your seat. Program advertising opportunities are also available.

Guests of Honor


Pennsylvania First Lady Lori Shapiro

Lori Shapiro, a native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, is honored to serve as the state’s First Lady. After earning her master’s degree in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from The George Washington University, Lori began her career at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy during the Clinton Administration. She and her husband, Josh, returned to Pennsylvania to raise their four children, where Lori became a trained parenting educator and dedicated herself to community service. As First Lady, she continues to champion acts of kindness and community strength across the Commonwealth. Lori also serves as Honorary Chair of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition and enjoys exploring Harrisburg, baking, running, and supporting Philly sports teams.

Pennsylvania Second Lady Blayre Davis

Blayre Holmes Davis is the Director of Community Relations for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where she leads community engagement initiatives, social justice programs, and player outreach efforts. Before joining the Steelers, she served as Director of Advocacy and Community Outreach at Adagio Health, developing partnerships across Western PA. With over a decade of nonprofit experience, Blayre is also active on several boards, including the YWCA and Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh. She lives in Allegheny County with her husband, Lt. Governor Austin Davis, and their daughter Harper, and proudly serves as Pennsylvania’s Second Lady.
