NEPA Gives 2025

Thank you for your support during NEPA Gives 2025! Thanks to the support of 53 donors, MFHS raised $7,519 in 24 hours to support essential programs and services for families across Northeastern Pennsylvania. NEPA Gives, hosted by seven regional community foundations, is a 24-hour online giving event designed to celebrate and support the work of local nonprofits. This year’s campaign took place from 7:00 PM on June 5 to 7:00 PM on June 6, connecting donors with organizations that are making a difference in their communities.
MFHS received the following awards during NEPA Gives:
- Luzerne Foundation Mind Matters Award
- William G. McGowan Charitable Fund Half Way to A Million Award
- Moses Taylor Foundation Matching Gift for reaching $1,000 in donations

Proceeds from NEPA Gives directly support our initiatives that provide support to families in need, including:
- Menstrual + hygiene products: In the United States of America, 1 in 4 teens and 1 in 3 adults struggle to afford period products. The Hygiene Pantry provides feminine hygiene products like pads and tampons to individuals in the community, in order to make these products more accessible;
- Diapers: Through the Diaper fund, we provide diapers to the families enrolled in our programs, as diapers are often hard to come by at food pantries and other community resources;
- Maternity clothes: Bette’s Closet, is our maternity clothing closet at our Circle of Care Scranton office. Bette’s Closet supplies maternity basics like pants, leggings, nursing bras, and belly bands to moms-to-be in need;
- Uber Health: Through the Uber Health initiative, we are able to provide rides to and from appointments for individuals that may not have access to reliable transportation
MFHS serves over 100,000 women, men, and children in 17 counties each year through core programs such as WIC Nutrition, Reproductive Health, Nurse-Family Partnership, Pregnancy Care, and more. The funds raised through NEPA Gives 2025 ensure that MFHS can continue to meet the often-overlooked needs of individuals in our community. Thank you!
