Working to meet the health and nutritional needs of women, children and families with information, education, and quality care, MFHS is currently seeking a full time Director of Behavioral Health for our Scranton and Admin locations. 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Director of Behavioral Health is responsible for leading the planning, development, expansion, and operational oversight of the Maternal and Family Health Services behavioral health program. This individual will work as an operational leader to drive key decisions and expansion of our behavioral health initiatives to improve patient health outcomes.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Expand and operationalize the ability to provide outpatient behavioral health services to MFHS clients in need by implementing policies and procedures, tracking data required to support the program, and operationalizing telehealth and other delivery options to provide remote counseling and assessment. 
  • Implement and oversee a national home-based intervention program with a family-centered approach to providing coordinated services to families.  
  • Collect and report data to funders and national program offices and ensure compliance with contract or program requirements.   
  • Provide leadership and supervision hours to MFHS social workers through coaching and feedback, consultation, and training and support to ensure compliance and program quality, meeting licensure requirements and personal development goals, and adherence to policies and procedures. 
  • Actively participates in the creation and review of program budgets, key performance indicators, and performance standards; monitors progress through ongoing review of clinical and billing data and remediating as needed and using collected data and information to maximize caseloads and improve quality of care. 
  • Serve as the primary contact and lead for EMR software application, working closely with the core team to identify and resolve issues, and install enhancements and upgrades, and train and support software users.  
  • Provide behavioral health services to patients and clients of MFHS services and complete required documentation of assessments and care plans in accordance with MFHS policies and procedures and scope of work.  
  • Promote and contribute to organizational and programmatic goals of MFHS. 

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Therapists/Social Workers  
  • Care Coordinators  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

  • Master’s Degree and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)  
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with psychotherapeutic work with very young children and adults.  
  • Training and/or experience in maternal mental health preferred.  
  • 1-3 years administrative experience in a behavioral health or community based mental health program.  
  • 1-3 years of program management experience preferred.  
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Records and utilizing data to identify areas where system or process improvements are possible 
  • Advanced business writing skills for memos, emails, documents, grant writing, and other materials. 
  • Use independent judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential information and sensitive situations
