Maternal & Family Health Services began it's journey of service in April 1971, with a vision to improve the quality of family life, promote responsible parenthood and coordinate effective service delivery in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Today, MFHS has grown to a regional organization serving over 125,000 individuals in 16 Pennsylvania counties.
2011 marks the 40th anniversary of the Agency. MFHS remains a beacon of hope for women and children in need today, thanks in large part to the support of people in our community who share our mission, who believe in the power of prevention, and want to preserve and sustain important health and nutrtion services now and into the future. Throughout the year, MFHS has marked this milestone anniversary during special celebrations and fundraising events. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration and made an investment in the future of families and our communities now and into the future.

40th Anniversary Events
18th Annual Golf Tournament - This year's golf tournament took place on June 23rd at the Irem Country Club in Dallas, PA. Our annual golf tournament has long been a way for the community to come together in support of MFHS. See pictures from this year's event on our Facebook page and read about the event on our blog.
Annual Meeting Community Luncheon - The 40th Annual Meeting Community Luncheon took place October 26th at the Woodlands Inn & Resort in Wilkes-Barre, PA and featured guest speaker Dr. Holly Atkinson who shared "The 5 Keys To Your Best Health". Dr Atkinson is a medical correspondent, physician educator, and a nationally recognized speaker known for offering practical advice, motivation and inspiration. 40th Anniversary Gala - MFHS celebrated this important milestone in our history on November 5th at The Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Our 40th Anniversary Gala featured a live auction, dinner and dancing with music provided by Group Du Jour.
